For a long time, I have been fascinated by the history of aircraft, however I find that my interest for airlines has fallen squarely on the shoulders of one now defunct company, Trans World Airlines. Over the past few years, I have collected various items from throughout TWA's lifespan.
TWA was one of the world's premier airlines, from the days of Harris "Pop" Hanshue, to Howard Hughes, all the way until Tillinghast and Icahn. It spanned several generations, outliving Pan Am, and was the choice airline of Frank Sinatra, Richard Nixon, Pope Paul VI, Dwight Eisenhower and many others. It was also the aircraft which inadvertently created the Air Force One designation.
Nationwide, Worldwide, depend on TWA!
