Want to cite The Tench Collection in your own works? Let me help you.
To cite The Tench Collection, or to add us to your bibliography, you can use the following format. Let's use an example to demonstrate.
We'll be using this TWA Cap from The TWA Collection, as our example. This has all the information we'll be needing one easy to access image.
Below is the template we'll be using:
Curator Name, ed/cur (editor/curator - use where applicable). Item Title, The Tench Collection, Accession No. [number, URL (where applicable)]
First, we need the name of the author. There are three ways of doing this:
Tench, F. C.
Tench, Finlay
Tench, Finlay Cole
For this example, we'll be using the first one. Our bibliography looks like this:
Tench, F. C, cur. (cur, because Finlay is the curator of the archive).
Then we need the Item Title, in this instance "Service Cap of a Trans World Airlines Captain", so our Bibliography will now look like:
Tench, F. C., cur. Service Cap of a Trans World Airlines Captain, The Tench Collection,
Now, we need our accession number, which is always conveniently located at the top of the page. For this one, it's 2023.003.001. Then, the link, which can be copied from the URL. So, our final citation is this:
Tench, F. C., cur. Service Cap of a Trans World Airlines Captain, The Tench Collection, Accession no. 2023.003.001, https://www.thetenchcollection.com/the-tench-collection/aviation-and-the-jet-age-1903-present/the-twa-collection/twa-captains-cap-owned-by-j-a-mcintyre.

Every effort has been made to trace the original creators of archival media; where unknown, items are credited by era and source.
